THE BOOK OF JUDGES, by Vincent O'Byrne, MQEP and Henk van Kooten, MQEP
http://www.vincentobyrne.com/book.html
"I think this is an excellent book and a must read for any photographer contemplating going for a qualification or submitting images for a competition. The book is easy to read and well laid out with examples of award winning photographs from top international photographers as a useful guide on what is needed when applying for qualifications in photography.
The superb quality of the photography shown in this book makes it well worth buying even if you are not considering applying for qualifications or entering print competitions."
Jim Lowe FBIPP, FRPS, QEP, FHEA, Chairman of the Federation of European Photography qualifications.

"Language is always the language of the other. Who wanders within a language, is always trespassing", Derrida ever wrote. The imagery is not different, as was again evident during the fifteenth edition of The Darkroom, the bimonthly rendezvous of photography loving of Amsterdam and surroundings, organized by the very active Dutch Photographers Federation, with an average of 350 attending.
Where should the photographer be and on whose behalf he shall then determine this? Fortunately, there is now the 'red book', an ethical guideline regarding registration of the public space in your pocket, a handy and useful guide on the do's and don'ts for the street photographer. About behavior and what is allowed is an initiative of Laila Schoots (Photographers Federation), Job Hengeveld (lawyer), and three experts.
