Get ready for a new blast for professional photography in Europe

March 22nd 2010

The 2010 FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year Awards, sponsored by EPSON, opens in just 2 weeks in an even more ambitious and prestigious form with more categories; “GOLDEN CAMERA Awards” for category winners and of course the much sought after title FEP European Professional Photographer of the Year 2010. There will even be an international section open to non European photographers.

Last year’s competition was a tremendous success with more than 2000 images sent in by professionals from all over Europe.

The aim is to inspire

"Our European colleagues who enter the competition gives us a terrific chance to validate their high levels of quality and professionalism and gives recognition to all those who work in this sector" says Neil Warner President of the FEP and Chairman of the international jury.

Neil Warner adds, “The competition is about celebrating the best in European Photography and to show the public and photographers alike the many ways high quality photography can be made. The aim is to inspire!”

New sections

Photographers can enter 3 images in each of the following categories

Commercial (advertising, fashion, food, architecture, corporate etc.)

Reportage (Social, press & travel reportage)

       Portraits (conventional/unconventional incl. nudes)

Wedding (traditional as well as experimental)

Landscape (including urban landscape, nature, wildlife)

      Illustrative (pictorial images etc)

GOLDEN CAMERA Award

It takes an excellent image to win in each of the categories. The FEP would like to acknowledge that by giving a prestigious award.  "That is why we have established the Golden Camera award for category winners" says FEP CEO Giuseppe Scozzi.

“Winning a category is a major  achievement  – it places you at the top of European Photography”, FEP President Neil Warner adds.

Overseas Section

Europe is the centre of our world – but it is not the only centre of the world. We are opening our competition to the Argentineans, Americans, Australians, Chinese and all those other nationalities with great photographers producing great work. We would like to see their work and get inspiration and insight from them too.
