Biography

After studying Art History and holding various positions in the art world, I changed course a few years ago and focused entirely on photography. At first only with commissioned work, but more and more the desire to make autonomous work grew and I followed my heart. I have discovered that photography is an ideal way for me to reshape events in my life and giving them a better place by immersing myself completely in them, being absorbed in them and making something beautiful out of them.   This is also how my Broad Daylight series came about. After the death of my brother and the subsequent dark period of mourning, my life came to a standstill for a while. To get moving again at some point, I started walking every day. During these walks, different emotions naturally floated to the surface and one day I recognized in the sight of a lamppost exactly what I was feeling at that moment. This touched me so much that I went back the next day and photographed, or better, portrayed, that lamppost. As a character, a personification of that emotion. I then strengthened that associated feeling in the post-processing process by searching for the right color and atmosphere. It later turned out that this moment was not an isolated moment and was not limited to that one lamppost. Touched by the sight of them, I 'had' to portray them and get to work with them. It has proven to be a healing process and it always surprises me how these everyday objects in the street scene have become fascinating metaphors for what has gradually come back to life inside.
