Biography

Nelson Coelho was born on August 7, 1985, in Lisbon, Portugal, but he was raised and lived most of his life in Terras de Bouro, Braga, Portugal. From very early on, he has been extremely interested in video, and by the age of 12, a video camera was already, without a shadow of a doubt, his greatest passion. And having a cousin who is a videographer (Carlos Coelho) has made it easy for Nelson Coelho to have the opportunity to participate and cooperate in wedding videos since then. And thanks to all the talent that distinguishes him and for what he is known, quickly the young man has become a reference in this context, and starts to plan his path, with a successful future on the horizon. He is member No 490 of the APPImagem and, as a professional who has – and was instilled and motivated with – a constant desire to learn and develop his technique, he has participated so far in several training courses related to video making, such as seminars and workshops, in Portugal (Semin·rio Anual da APPImagem), Barcelona (RecVolution), Malaga (Bodaf) Sevilha (Foro de Fotografos), Mexico (Congresso Fotografos Mexicanos), and Las Vegas (WPPI). In 2010, he decided to move to Luxembourg, because he aspired to have new challenges and opportunities as a videographer, and also because he believed that it was time to make his work known and expand beyond borders. Well, he wasn’t wrong, and after only 7 years living in Luxembourg, this humble young man has already been recognized by that countrys media for his participation in wedding exhibits/fairs and videos in several different contexts. As a videographer, he has already worked in advertisement, participated in several jobs for RTP International, has given workshops in Italy, Spain, Mexico, etc. But his trademark and source of inspiration, motivation and dedication is definitely wedding video. And that is clear in his videos, recognized by many as a work of excellency. He has already made wedding videos in Spain, Italy, Cancun, Mexico, the USA, as well as Portugal and Luxembourg. He has won the Best Wedding Film Award, in the Best Foreign Wedding Film category, in the first Short Wedding Film Festival, in Madrid, Spain. He has won the Luces de Granada Award, in the Apartado Social category (2014). He was nominated for a Golden Lens Award as an international videographer (2016) by one of the worlds largest wedding videographer sites. Recently, (January 2018) he has been nominated for Videographer of the Year by the APPImagem – the only association for image professionals. He has won first and third places in wedding films, in the “Love Story category  in the biggest video makers association in Brazil. He was considered one of the 3 best videographers in the world by the videographer association EEVA, in 2014.
